This means that something is preventing the service from working properly, and results in the other error messages you see highlighted above. Your responses for the Command Prompt appear to be missing a few details - pleas e use the instructions below to run the following commands (again) NET START SPPUINOTIFY SC QC SPPUINOTIFY SC QUERYEX SPPUINOTIFY SC SDSHOW SPPUINOTIFY Here are some instructions to make life easier :) 1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the CP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt. 2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight select Copy. In the CP Windows, click on the black/white icon at top left select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once. 3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response. Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

That all looks normal - except for the obvious problem in starting the service. The fact that there is no error message with the failure isn't going to help :( Please open the Event Viewer (run EVENTVWR in the Search box), and look in the Windows System and Application logs to see if you can find any associated errors. Please also run the following commands - ICACLS C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService ICACLS C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\NTUSER.DAT DIR C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService post your results. I don't think any of thoese error messages from eventvwr are relevant in this case. At the moment, I'm stumped :( What may help is a CHKDSK - there may be file corruption present that is stopping proper responses. Such corruption could be in the registry, or rather one of the relevant files referenced by the registry. type in the Search box CMD.EXE right-click on the only file that is found Select Run as Administrator - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up At the Command prompt, type CHKDSK C: /R and hit the Enter key You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot. The chkdsk will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient! After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot) Post back with another MGADiag report. (I have to go out for the rest of the day - so don't expect a quick response!) Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Hey! That looks as if it did the trick! Are you still seeing a non-genuine notification? To be honest, I have absolutely no idea why it should have worked - if you're willing to carry on, I'd like to do some forensics to try and find out. Please reboot, and access www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate and see what happens - hopefully you'll be offered MSE and IE9 (you don't have to take them!). post back with another MGADiag report. hi, i dnt understand really....i wish i had studied IT ...anyway, i want to know what happened and are u sure everything is ok now? and the non-genuine notification...i never saw that notification ...it was whilst trying to reactivate office that i ran cscript dstatus and the dhistory and later slmgr.dlv that i realized that was something wrong. i can't even remember what other commands i ran....to be honest i only started using command prompt few days ago whilst reading posts and more posts...and ur instructions to Joe on 4 Dec 2011...he had more or less the same tampered thing...I suspect it may have been CCleaner that I ran a week or two ago under registry and scan issues and fix all issues. but as I said I dnt understand much....but I DO WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. i AM GONNA REBOOT AND POST U ANOTHER MGA REPORT.GIVE ME FEW MINTS.

The MGADiag report says that there is no problem - if you are not seeing a non-genuine notification, then Windows is happy :) Please don't run commands that you don't understand - they can have unforseen consequences (and I fall into that trap sometimes - but at least I can usually get out without loss!) CCLeaner is one of the less destructive Reistry CLeaners (better known as Registry destroyers) - but there is NO such thing as a 'safe' one, and all will cause major problems given half a snowball's chance in hell! It's been a long time since I saw that - and you should only see it once, when the validation is first done. You have done validation before - so should not need to download the 'update' again. Having said that, you should simply run the downloaded program without any special settings. Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

And I did not do any validation....I only did the chkdsk and than ran the MGA report...sudenly everything was ok....I thought that by running this tool would give further details on what really happened with regards to that tampered thing...anyway, is there any benefits to run this tool ? is it gonna give any details to explain what happened? if I am missing out something here pls accept my apologies... Rosh19 Yes, I am aware of that. As I said, it's a long time since I last saw the download - it should only appear the first time you validate any machine at that site, and I'd forgotten that it happened! I had to run the validation on a fresh VM to remind myself of the procedures. Sorry about the confusion there. Please go to the validation site - www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate - again, and run the download. There is no need for any special settings. That looks like something we did fixed the problem! You should not be seeing a non-genuine notification any more. Do you still have a problem with Office?? Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Dear Mr. Rosh19 If you purchase genuine office 2010 please follow below if not update from internet For Office 2010 refere KB article for activate the software by telephone http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950929 Mohammed Imtiyaz Ali I have no idea why you felt it necessary to post that - and I see that someone else agres with me, and it's been tagged as potentially abusive. There are NO indications anywhere that either Office or Windows are non-genuine - merely that a service has been 'tampered', which is usually the result of either attempts to speed a system up, or malware.Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Hi Noel, I was extremelly unhappy with each and every reply I got fr M.A. It just doesn't make any sense. I guess I was really lucky that u replied to my posts from the begining. And just in time ...His first reply was at 9.13am and I even started to follow and even thanked him....luckilly u replied at 9.28am...otherwise I would never know that the KEY, when sppuinotify is tampered, wouldn't work. I was really confident with ur instructions as I had read ur advice to Joe on the 4 Dec 2011 which very much matched my case. Anyway, I dnt get any notification from windows, is now showing as licenced Thank You so much. But I still have the Office 10 pro plus to be reactivated...I have ran the rearm and is on grace period. the office IS genuine I got fr a friend who works in a firm, and it was the guy (who is one of the partners of the firm) who gave the cd to my friend (knowing that it was for me). But in the mean time I dnt hve contact with him anymore, nor feel confortable to go to the firm. I have tried to install the key I found in one of the xml files, it did nothing , installed and Product Activation Required is still there. I went to Programs and tried to repair and also the msg is still there, asking for activation. when i run cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\"ospp.vbs /dhistory....tells me ERROR/Host : 0xC0020017, 0x00000000. a number of times and to run ddescr 0xC0020017.ospp.vbs ospp.vbs /dstatusall gives me : Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. I still am on 20 days away fr OOB grace period to end. Also, under Microsoft Office - I noticed I had 3 folders namelly: Ofice11, Office12 and Office14...amongst other folders, and I deleted office11 nd Office12 cause I saw somewhere on wikipedia that these belonged to office 2007, nd i had a trial of 60 days i had never removed since i got the laptop in 2009 jan. so i uninstalled the trial fr programs and the folders were still there so i deleted them. sorry for the long post. just thought it might be relevant. thnk u

I'm not really conversant with the Office 2010 activation modes - so this is pretty much guesswork. It looks to me as if the Office License is for a KMS version - which has to be activated against an organisation's own KMS server, rather than against MS's activation servers. The version you have is apparently Office Pro Plus - which is a Volume License only edition, and as such is only valid for employees of the issuing organisation, or students with MSDNAA access. This means that since you acquired it from a friend, you are not legally entitled to use it - even if you had the proper Key installed, and the proper access permissions to connect to the server for activation. You should uninstall it, and purchase a copy of your own. If you want a more informed opinion, you should post in the Office Answers forums here... http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-office_install Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
