win7 syncing issues
Ok, our batch file does use net use and we do not have a problem with the drives connecting at login. We already have a GPO with inheritance turned off. The real problem here is that when I attempt to run SYNC I receive this message for every file " The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process". The user has ownership of the folder and inheritance is turned of on it as well and user is not logged onto another computer. This process works in XP, Vista Business but not in Win7 or Vista Ultimate. I have the UAC cranked down to the bottom as was mentioned in another response, still no synchronization. It was mentioned that I use SyncToy in a previous answer and while that does work, it cannot be set up like SYNC so that when a person logs off for the day his files are synchronized with the server. There has to be a solution to this, I cannot believe that Microsoft did not intend Win7 to be used in a business environment!!!!

It can be related to the firewall in Windows 7. You may temporary disable it and check the result. If the issue still occurs, please let us know whether the computers are in domain or a workgroup. Also please let us know where does the network share locate. Meantime please change the NTLM authentication level. Network security: LAN Manager authentication level Please change the level to Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Neither fix worked. The computer is in a domain and the firewall has been off all the time. The home directory sits on a file server inside the domain.
