My windows 7 machine can browse the network, but I can see only 3 out of 10 computes. All computers are windows 7 from the same image. Are there any settings that need to be enabled? thanks

Yes, we are on a domain. The network discovery and all other features in the tab on all PCs are turned on.

can you ping each computer? also try these Network discovery requires that the DNS Client, Function Discovery Resource Publication, SSDP Discovery, and UPnP Device Host services are started, that network discovery is allowed to communicate through Windows Firewall --> from windows help also can try also change adapter settings on active adapter -> properties -> TCP/ IPv4 ->properties -> advanced -> wins -> use enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP or try to disable ipv6 on the ethernet cards

Hi, Since your client is on a domain, please check that the DNS Server is running well. Be sure that the Network Discovery is turned on. Meanwhile, youd better temporarily turn off the firewall and ping the target computer for testing. Another suggestion is to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP and enable Computer Browser service. You can use the following steps on the each Windows 7 machine to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Click Start menu and open Control Panel. 2. Open "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Change advanced sharing settings" option in the left panel. 3. In domain profile, please select "Turn on Network discovery" and save the settings. 4. Click Start menu 5. Click "Start", go to run, type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in the open box and press Enter. 6. Click Continue button to verify the administrator permission. 7. Right click Computer Browser Service and choose Properties. 8. On General tab click Start. 9. Choose Automatic next to Startup type. 10. Click OK. If this issue persists, I suggest you contact your administraotr for assistance about the LAN network settings such as the VLAN and other security settings. Hope that helps.
