Hi, if the issue occurs, please verify in device manager whetehr the mouse is still installed. If not, I would suggest to try wiht another mouse. It might be a hardware issue with the mouse!MCP/MCSA/MCTS/MCITP

Tried safe mode, the mouse still drops out. I have microsoft mouse software. Yes, if I reboot a couple times it comes back and stays, I'll turn my computer off and then the next time I turn it on, no pointer. Any other suggestions???????????j.Huber

I have the same issue. I Bought a new Acer Aspire M (laptop) with Win 8 today. With no extra software installed and using my tried and true Microsoft USB wireless mouse the cursor has disappeared several times. k.sherman

I just got an ASUS Notebook today. Played with it for a few hours, then it seemed like the computer froze up. When it came back on, the curser was gone and I couldn't use the touchpad. I hooked up a wireless mouse, which works, but I'd like to use the touchpad. Any suggestions?

Look in Device Manager - does that show an error? Look in Control Panel - Mouse properties - does that show anything? Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Take it back to where you bought it. Solid state devices have a relatively high failure rate when they are new. If they last 48 hours, they usually last a very long time. So don't waste your time, just take it back.Jim Kay
