who provides the technical assistance for Microsoft?
I got a scam call trying to get access to my computer. The caller took me to the Customer Management Event View, which had a lot of errors and warnings. I told him I wasn't giving him access, hung up, googled Microsoft technical support and got a foreigner who told me it sounded like my computer was corrupt and I needed to talk to a level 3 technician. I had to charge $198 for the help, I gave the tech access to my computer and watched what he did, which was delete all my logs. He didn't change or fix anything. When I told him that, he said I didn't have to worry about the logs. (then why have them??? And what about the supposed corrupt computer??) My bank is questioning the charge of this foreign company. Was I scamed the $198, or is Macrofix legit? thanks.
