where Vista save the path of the users profile
We have our users' profile configured via the group policy to redirect the desktop and my document to the server. At the begining during the migration from windows xp to vista and windows server, the profiles folders lost the users ownership, so when a user logged into a computer he got local profile in the computer, even after we fixed this issue. the users can not get thier profile moves and redirected to the server on the computers that they logged into at the begning, however when they logged into another computer for the first time every thing work perfect and they got thier profiles redirected to the server. So, where windows Vista save this information about the profile path? I find some registry keys, but I am still missing something.

You may refer to the following registry key to check: Locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList Under the ProfileList subkey, delete the subkey that is named SID.bak. SID is a placeholder for the security identifier (SID) of the user account that is experiencing the problem. The SID.bak subkey should contain a ProfileImagePath registry entry that points to the original profile folder of the user account that is experiencing the problem.Sabrina TechNet Community Support
