HI Firstly ! May i know the operating system u r using on ur gigabyte laptop ? if u r using Windows 7 or Vista then u can follow this steps to resolve the issue !! If your Windows 7 or Vista computer has encountered the dreaded “BOOTMGR is missing” error, you aren’t alone. If the problem isn’t hardware related you can fix it with relative ease as long as you have a Windows DVD handy. If you don’t have one, you can create a Windows Vista repair disk using our guide. Boot off the Windows Vista DVD and then click Next at the first prompt: You should see a link in the lower left-hand side for “Repair your computer” The installation process will attempt to find your Vista installation directory. If there’s more than one in the list, select the correct one and then use the Next button again. Click the first link for “Startup Repair” The installation process will repair the system, and then prompt for you to reboot. Alternatively you could have chosen the Command Prompt option instead, and use the following command to fix the boot options only: bootrec /fixboot

You need to go to a command prompt. You can boot from either your Win 7 DVD or a Win 7 System Repair Disc. COMMAND PROMPT - GO TO A COMMAND PROMPT USING A SYSTEM REPAIR DISC 1) Insert System Repair Disc into optical reader. 2) Shutdown your computer. 3) Boot up your computer from the System Repair Disc If your computer doesn’t boot from the optical drive, then Immediately after pushing your Power ON button, start tapping the F2 key to get to the BIOS to change the boot order. On some computers, you can: Immediately after pushing your Power ON button, start tapping the F12 key and choose CD/DVD to change the boot order only for this time. 4) Wait while a mini-version of Windows is loaded and finally the System Recovery Options dialog appears. 5) SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS dialog | Select a keyboard input method | NEXT button 6) SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS dialog will search your system for installed versions of Windows. 7) SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS dialog | select the Use recovery tools that can help fix problems starting Windows radio button | NEXT button 8) SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS | Choose a recovery tool | 9) Click on command prompt from the list shown Run any desired commands and type EXIT when finished. Remove the System Repair Disc. Shutdown your computer. Power on your computer. COMMAND PROMPT - GO TO A COMMAND PROMPT USING YOUR WIN 7 DVD Boot up from your Windows 7 DVD.
