AFAIK you have to be member of the local administrators group to be able to remotely run commands over WinRM. Here is good article that explains how to enable WinRM using Group Policy http://blog.crayon.no/blogs/janegil/archive/2010/03/04/enable_2D00_and_2D00_configure_2D00_windows_2D00_powershell_2D00_remoting_2D00_using_2D00_group_2D00_policy.aspx Ray - Author of Windows 7 for XP Professionals

Hi, As VistaGuyRay says, you must be a member of the local Administrator Group first. By default, the domain administrator will be published to local administrator group. Regarding how to enable Windows Remote Management, you may access the following link. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd163506.aspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555966 To configure it with Group Policy 1.Type gpedit.msc at a command prompt. The Group Policy Object Editor window opens. 2.Look for the Windows Remote Management and Windows Remote Shell Group Policy Objects (GPO) under Administrative Templates and Windows Components.
