weird directories created on one day
Just curious why I have these folders on my computer. See the directories in the picture below. The directory names are:
-5d839cbaf21b0000567bae3b782d
- 6df572dbd0a18f3a75ba1c345898
-c1852d00bcd9cc519e15
Also, I can't delete them.
See picture at http://www.6pix.net/images/64363610305744074514.jpg (Not sure why "add link" is grayed out above; I would have just uploaded my picture to this forum if it let me.)
Thank you for your time and assistance.

the link to the picture doesn't work. Use your SkyDrive to add pictures:

If the folders contain .vdm files , they were created by Microsoft Security Essentials. See:

the link also doesn't work.
Don't post the directlink, post the link to the folder.

OK. I put four pictures in my skydrive account and then asked for the link to share the pics and got:

Hopefully that link above will work.
No, these files are not and do not appear to be from Microsoft Security Essentials. I am unable to browse in most of these folders so can't completely confirm that files like .vdm are in there. But see the link to the pictures for what I see
when I use Explorer to browse the folders.
Thank you again for your time and assistance.

ok, those are temporary folder which are created by Installers. Windows chooses the partitiion with most free space to extract the installers and rum them from there.
Take ownership [1], change the permissions and delete the folders.
