w7 drm
When u read comments from other users they are always say things like "oh it is so nice". But what it is important too me is this: is it safe.... I mean do I have control over the information. Why does not Microsoft say anything about the fact that the reason for Vista and I guess the same is for windows 7 is the fact that this is full of DRM and "PALLADIUM" But guess what they wants us to talk about is the interface and how nice it looks. Even I think windows 7 is very fast on my pc but I do not see any reason why I need to upgrade.

DRM is a necessary part of an operating system, or else you wouldn't be able to legally use content by a lot of content providers. Windows 7 RC has been great for me and DRM hasn't be a problem. You have complete control over your information and everything that is rightfully yours to modify and distribute. -Nick

<is it safe.... I mean do I have control over the information.>Yes.Respectfully, all the FUD from the Internet Echo Chamber seems to have got to you. If Vista was so "full of DRM that it will lock you out of your legit media", then you would expect that I'd have seen that issue in the 2.5 years that I've been running it on the laptop that I'm typing this post on. ;) I have not had such an issue - and, there's about 60 gigs of music on it (MP3s that were ripped on two desktops, one of which is running Win7, the other ran MCE2k5), various small videos, and a lot of varying Recorded TV content (that's been copied, at times, from that now-sold MCE2k5 desktop, the Win7 desktop, and my MCE2k5 server.)My current desktop (built in January) has beed running Win7 since it was built. Again, no issue in this regard. As Nick said, some degree of DRM is necessary, as it allows things that wouldn't be possible (due to third-party rules) without it (see: CableCard.)-Chris[If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message.
