w7 creates new profile at logon with domain user
I have a w2k8 environment. when a domain user logs on to a win7 machine, the machine creates his profile. after a log off or reboot, when that same user logs on, the machine makes a new profile and the users locally placed docs cannot be found anymore. in the users folder you get then f.e. koen and koen.domain. next will be koen.domain.000 . When looking in the "older" profile, this folder is emty. how can i reslove this problem? Thx in advance. Koen

Hi Koen, Thanks for the post! It seems a temporary user profile is created every time when the user is logon. This issue may happen when the account you use to log on is a member of Guests or Domain Guests. On you domain controller. Follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to Programs - Administrative Tools - Active Directory Users and Computers. 2. Click the Users folder, right-click the user account that you want, click Properties, and then click Member of tab. 3. If the Guests or Domain Guests group is in the Member of list, please Remove it. 4. Click Ok and exit the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.
