vpn connection issues: drops or 619
Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum. I would like to confirm the following details: 1. How do you connect to Internet, via a router or modem directly? 2. Did all computers sit in same network environment? Currently, I suggest you perform the following steps to check how it works: 1. Temporarily disable you anti-virus software for test. 2. If you connect to the DSL modem directly, reset the configuration to factory defaults. 3. Due to poor connection also can cause this issue too, please test this issue in another network environment. Hope it helps. Alex Zhao TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. greetings; I'm having an odd issue. (search has proven no luck so far) i have two users that are suddenly either not able to connect to the vpn or connect and it drops within a min. one system is 7pro and gets error 619. second try and it connects. then connection will drop as soon as any attempt to send data. even a ping command will kill the connection. other is vista home and gets error 800 when the user is at home. or it will drop. when run at the office from my cell phone no issues (sounds like user issue but might be connected). both users have functioning internet connections. vpn server is running fine with other users logged in. not at max user count either. have tried to force PPTP with no luck. there have been other reports of sketchy vpn recently. so far i had chalked it up to the users having isp issues. now am thinking all of this might be connected. any ideas would be appreciated.
