voice mail

hi! I've issue with accessing the voicemail (Lync 2010 & Exchange 2007) when i'm dialing from external. The call goes through and I can hear the message prompting me to key in my extension, but when I key in 4 digits extension. It never get accepted. The voice recording kept repeating even after I keyed in the valid extension number. The strange part is if I key in a non valid extension. The system knows that the extension is not valid.

I do not have this problem if i dial to the voicemail number using Lync (enterprise voice enabled). It accepts my extension with my password via Lync.

ANy idea what's wrong or how should i troubleshoot this issue? Thanks.

Hi,

check the UM Dial plan Dialling restrictions. you need to configure any number allow rule in the dial plan to allow this. Also check if the Extension dialling is enabled as well. Check below blog to see how the dialling restrictions need to be configure. The blog is for Exchange 2013 but it's the same in Exchange 2007 as well
