hello my laptop vista also not connected with windows sp2 network but in the same network i can browse the internet any one help us?

my friend me too im havin d same problem.Mine is a little bit different in that my network has about 9 xps and 2 vistas.All the systems can access each other except for one stubborn vista laptop. Ive tried virtually everything I can.It can only see the other vista system but cant access it,as for the xps,cant even see them...I also need help here

I am facing similar kinda problem...I've 2 desktops connected through ethernet....Server is running vista...which has direct internet connection... Client desktop is running on windows XP SP2.... it is able to connect to the internet...and both computers can see each other in network location too... but none of them can access each other...i've enabled file sharing in folder option on both the system...put off the firewall too...but no positive signs yet...i even went in services.msc through run command and enabled, started (automatic)all remote services and terminal services on both the system...(I know its for remote desktop,but still hoped itcud enable file sharing)....but no success yet... somebody please help us...itsmemad

I got a solution... by default workgroup is mshome in XP...& WORKGROUP in Vista....change both to common name...for example WORKGROUP on both systems...restart it...u must be able to access files...it worked for me... itsmemad.
