I'm having problem with two of our Dell Vostro 220s desktop here. Originally we bought three Dell Vostro 220s (same setup and specs) from Dell last year. When the three desktop arrives they are already pre-installed with Windows Vista SP1. I reformatted again the three desktops so that it will be the same setups as what we have here. By the way our workstations here are connected to a domain (Win2k3 R2) this domain also serves as its DNS for all of our workstations. Also I always make it a point that each of our workstations has the same setup, and softwares (updated firmwares, bios, and drivers) that are installed inside. After I have finished rebuilding the workstations and its setup I joined it to our domain. I used our domain administrator account to login to the computer and to the domain. I updated the workstation using our WSUS to make it sure that every updates that I install inside the machine came from Microsoft. After I am finished with the udpates on the computer I tried to use one of our domain user account (normal domain account with no administrator privileges). Unfortunately after I supplied the username and password for my authentication the system would just hang on the "Welcome" screen. This would usually go for about 15 minutes or more, and once I was able to login to the domain and checked the logs it shows that the gpc client took 600 seconds for it to login. I have already checked the internet about some other solutions pertaining with this matter like checking if there are some errors with our group policy (like automatic installations of printers, network drives, etc.). I even tried to create a sample user from our domain (with no administrative privileges) still the computer takes time before it can login to the domain (15 minutes or more). I'm just wondering all of our other computers here doesn't encounter the same problem it just logs on to the domain smoothly. Now my question is if there's a problem with our group policy settings it should affect all of our computers here, how come only these two desktops are affected by this slow login problem in Vista. The other computer that was also purchased together with the other 2 computers that has problem doesn't have any login problems. Is there anyone around here could help me resolve this problem? Thanks!
