vista and windows 7
here is my problem ,is more a question for you i bought a vista upgrade the day it was released. truely ran great for the first couple months then the problems started. i went back to Xp Probecause i trust it more then vistanow i have a copy of vista and xp pro but if i should buy windows 7 are they going to give me something back for the useless junk that vista is.it is bugging me so much i am at the point i realy don't want to take a chance and get some piece of junk again.i realize this a is a beta test now and well still thinking about the install on my other comp to test it.But what are they going to do about this piece of junk vista they marketed.sorry microsoft but it is a piece of junk my faith in your work is there to solve the problem. but i am concerned if you put out another OS that is junk, i think linux will be my new choice.i would accept a rebate on the vista and return it to you if need be.or a free upgrade from you to windows 7 assuming it is a better OS then vista.i spent months working on problems with vista i was having.realy a big waste of my time i felt in the end.please give me a idea how to resolve my faith in your company.

Microsoft will certainly not be taking Vista off your hands and replacing it with a copy of Windows 7. I would imagine that the standard practice will apply whereby you either buy a full version of Windows 7 (at the full version price) or else upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 just as you did when you migrated from XP to Vista. The problem is that out of the millions of copies of Vista that have been sold there are only a limited number of users who, either experienced problems or else were completely dissatisfied with Vista. I agree Vista hasn't turned out to be the roaring success that Microsoft would have hoped for, but I personally haven't had any issues with it. When Vista first came out in beta I think it crashed three times on my test machine. Since its release in early 2007 Vista has crashed once and that was due to a driver problem which, incidentally, was not Microsofts fault but the fault of the hardware manufacturer.Windows 7 has certainly not been 'rushed' out because someone at Microsoft thought Vista was useless. Windows 7 was in preparation well before Vista actually hit the shelves. Windows 7 is just the next generation of the Windows operating system whether you actually buy it is left entirely up to you. No one is going to force you to upgrade.John Barnett - Windows XP Associate Expert; Windows Desktop Experience. - Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org

I just love how people can come on and call a piece of software junk and then ask for a freebee from the same manufacture that created the junk in the first place. Delivery of a message is just as important as the message itself.

I ran it till after Service Pack 1 came out still then my comp crashed right after. have tried installing it 1 or 2 times since had nothing but problems. i just had a lot of problems with vista and i felt they did a great job at first but later i was having to many problems from program compatiblity. Sure now more are offered but i still don't have faith in it.

Egads, I wouldn't expect every person's experiences of Vista to be the same as mine, that is what makes us individuals. Maybe it's the luck of the draw that dicates who has problems and who doesn't or, more probably, the manufacturer of the PC. I think at the start of the launch of Vista two PC manufacturer's stood out as having the most problems - HP and Dell. No doubt we will be seeing the same love/hate relationship with Windows 7John Barnett - Windows XP Associate Expert; Windows Desktop Experience. - Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org

Well egards it's just that I hate to see people whining about Vista this or vista that. If you don't like something just take action, try something different, compare. But don't just whine. There is choice out there!
