using MAXMEM switch without rebooting
hi all,Can we use the MAXMEM switch in boot.ini file without rebooting windows. I want to restrict my memory to 256 MB . I know i can accomplish this by using the MAXMEM switch but it requires a reboot of windows. Is there a way to restrict memory with using MAXMEM switch and without rebooting windows or if this is not possible, can i accomplish this with any other way??????? any help would be appreciated.1 person needs an answerI do too

Since XP processes the boot.ini when it starts, adding it now doesn't seem like it will make any difference until you reboot.If you are able to describe your system environment, the issue you are having and why you think using MAXMEM will resolve it, you might receive some ideas from folks that have already figured out whatever it is you are trying to do.Don't guess what the problem might be - figure it out and fix it.
