I need to use a redirected usb printer as a lpt1 printer under mstsc. Earlier, under WinXP I used a batch file during startup with the following command:net use lpt1 machine\printerNow after installing Win7, I put my batch file to the startup again, and after reboot I got every time the following error:"System error 5 has occured. Access is denied."As this, I cannot use the printer from mstsc.Does Win7 has an alternative way for printer port redirection? Or what should I adjust? (This is not a Win7-relevant problem.)Thx in advance!

Hi, I think the issue is related to the batch file, please check it. Since the error 5 appeared, I suspect you should run this batch file as Administrator and see how it works. Just for a test, you can also temporarily disable UAC to see if it works. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
