update 3 of 3. keeps rebooting to screen. Have tried os disk but will not boot from it? will not accept save mode or prompt mode

Hello Mike, Did you tried to open in Safe Mode with Command Prompt? We need to open the command prompt to delete the file that "manage the update" If Safe Mode with Prompt fail, try to boot with the Install DVD, and Select "Repair". Now with the Command Prompt Opened. Type the follow lines and press enter at the End: Cd /d %Windir%\Winsxs Takeown %Windir%\Winsxs\Pending.XML Cacls %Windir%\Winsxs\Pending.XML Del Pending.XML Close the Prompt and restart the O.S. Post if this solve the problem.

Open Regedit, search for "Advanced installer need recolving" and delete that entry. 6. Search for "Pending.xml identifier" and delete it. 7. Reboot. Cannot get to command prompt. When I hit safe mode with prompt computer freezes then reboots. Does the same when I try to use OS disc. Disc will try to start but comp will just reboot to 3 of 3 update screen?
