I'm not sure what you mean by not getting along with Windows 7 - do you have any specific issues? Here are the things you'll need to do to remove it and install XP: First and foremost, make sure HP has XP drivers for all the hardware in your laptop (Sound, Ethernet, Wireless, Video, Touchpad, etc...). If not, find out who made the individual devices and check their websites for XP drivers. Next, you'll neet to turn off SATA support in your BIOS - set the hard drive mode to IDE. Then, boot from the XP CD. When asked where to install, you'll need to delete the current Windows 7 partitions and do a clean install. Windows 7 uses a slightly different version of NTFS and XP cannot be installed on a partition created by Windows 7. Before you do any of this though, I would make a set of recovery disks for Windows 7 using the HP utility provided, if you haven't already done so. Just in case things go awry, which they sometimes do.

Hi, If you want to install some old programs which could not be compatible with Windows 7, I suggest you install software in Compatibility Mode: Make older programs run in this version of Windows Also, if your windows 7 version is Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate, you could use XP mode to run your programs: Download Windows XP Mode If you still want to uninstall Windows 7, please refer to the following article: How to uninstall Windows 7 Hope it helps.
