unchecked critical updates: MS11-044 (.net), MS11-056 (csrss)
How come these updates are unchecked? Should I just ignore them?

Hi JS2010,
Thanks for the post!
Are these updates be hidden? You can manually download and install them.
Keep the Windows up to date is recommended for security.
Regards,
Miya

They aren't hidden, but they're unchecked by default, like IE9 and SP1.

Some updates have dependancies so that is why they are not checked.
If you have all other updates installed then install SP1 first follwed by IE9 and if needed Microsoft Security Essentials

Now that I've installed the other crits except IE9 & SP1, the updates I was asking about are checked. Windows works in mysterious ways...

They will enable when dependancies are met.
Its a nuisance but necessary.

Is there a way not to run 'mscorsvw.exe' after a .net update?
July 20th, 2011 12:36am
That is an important component, do not worry about it.
Generally its a good idea to reboot frequently to be sure that the machine is running well.
Reboot every 2-3 days is usually enough for Windows 7
