unable to telnet between windows 7 computers
hi, i have installed the windows telnet server feature on a windows 7 machine. i have also installed the windows telnet client feature on a second windows 7 machine. both computers are in the same lan, and have a static ip address configured. i have turned the firewall off on both computers. the computers are able to ping each other however the telnet client cannot telnet to the server. i am not sure what i can try other than turning off the firewall. this is the error message i receive: Connecting To 192.168.1.131...Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Have you checked the firewall in your router or switch? Telnet Server may be not configured to listen on port 23, or Telnet Server is not started. Ensure that Telnet Server is started and configured to listen on port 23. If that is not possible, specify the configured port after the host name when connecting.
