unable to play CD with ActiveX Internet Explorer 8
I have a CBT Nuggets video on a CD and I'm unable to get it to play from the CD itself. If I copy the files locally to my hard drive, then it plays just fine. i still get a lilttle warning message about ActiveX. When I attempt to launch it from the CD, an IE window opens and it just says "connecting" but it just sits there. I tried to adjust some of the IE settings but it didn't seem to help.

First, can you let us know which player is your default Player? The Windows Media player (WMP) or other player? Can you collect a screenshot for the error while playing the CD directly? If the WMP is the default player, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot your issue.Modify the Window Media Player settings==============================1. Launch Window Media Player, press Alt, click "Tools"->"Options".2. On the security tab, select these options:a. Run script commands and rich media streams when the Player is in a Web page. b. Play enhanced content that uses Web pages without prompting3. On the Network tab, select all the Protocols for MMS URLs: RTSP/UDP, RTSP/TCP, HTTP. Also mark "Allow the player to receive multicast streams".4. Click Apply and OK.After that, please test your CD again. Good luck!John

I figured it out. I had to turn off IE Protected Mode.
