I'm not sure what you mean, but I assume you get this message when trying to do something? To resolve this, click start, in the search box enter services. Run the program services. Scroll down to "Windows event log". Doubleclick it and click the start button in the new window. Set the startup type to "automatic" and click ok. Close services. If this dos not resolve the issue, please clarify what you are trying to do and what exactly goes wrong.MCSA/MCTS/MCP

I run sfc/ scanow comand and receive message that: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." Can I restore system files from DVD?

Hi, You may need to run In-place Upgrade on current system with the installation DVD. It will not remove your personal data and applications. However, I still suggest you back up important data before repair.Arthur Xie - MSFT
