unable to backup/all restore points missing due to shadow copy service error
Hello,
In the last few weeks I have been experiencing some strange problems with Windows 7 related applications and utilities. I have been unable to back up anything due to a shadow copy service component error and sometimes I am told to check the VSS and
SPP services. I have manually tried to start the SPP service to no avail. I am also having issues with extended boot times. It has went from under a minutes to about 3 minutes as well. Some folders have become locked as well.
Have ran malware tests, virus, etc. Drivers are all up to date that I am aware of and there are no hardware issues that I can see. I did try and load a TV Tuner driver the other week but problems had already set in prior to that. I had tried to system restore
after all of these unfavorable events but the last restore point available is from over a year ago! Where have all of my restore points gone to?
Any advice on any one topic or all would be greatly appreciated. Just being pointed in the proper direction would be a godsend. Thanks so much.
