Windows XP Home or Pro?It's considered unwise to use the built-in Administrator account for regular use because if it becomes corrupted and you don't have another account with administrator privileges, you may have difficulty in fixing things. For this reason, Windows XP hides the built-in Administrator account from the Welcome screen as soon as another account with administrator privileges is created. Did you recently elevate one of the other user accounts to have administrator privileges and then change it back to "limited" status?Regardless, you can still get to the built-in Administrator account. How you do it depends on whether you have Home or Pro. In XP Home, you can only get to the the built-in Administrator account from Safe Mode. Reboot and repeatedly tap the F8 key before the Windows start screen appears. In XP Pro, with all users logged off and the Welcome screen showing, press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice and the old login window should appear. Choose Administrator from the drop-down box and enter the correct password (or leave password blank if you didn't set one up).Once you get back into the built-in Administrator account, you should really consider creating another account with administrative privileges that you can use when you need to, and leave the built-in account for emergencies.
