Have you previously used OWA with Vista? This is a known problem with Vista (and probably Windows 7). If this is the problem the fix has to be done on the server. Do you know if the server is a Small Business Server?Kerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience

You receive an error message when you try to perform any editing tasks, or you must click to enable the compose frame in Outlook Web Access The issue occurs if IE version is later than IE6, whatever the system is Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 RC. To resolve this issue, We need to inform the mail server administrators to install the hotfix that is mentioned in the article into the mail server computers.Arthur Xie - MSFT

I knew that they won't change it because their system was made to support for IE6 on XP only. It's reason I want to change on my site. Perhaps, I have to change back to use IE6 or must install the other browsers.I wonder why MS doesn't give us a choice to get risk if they still want to use these function?By the way, Thank you for your reply!

Windows 7RC tester - Hmm. That does sound like a bit of a problem. Though, in all reality, Windows XP is getting long in the tooth - and Windows 7 is likely to be fairly popular, they sound like they need to get off their backsides and start planning for the future. I see two solutions that do come to mind on a more immediate basis if convincing them to update is out of the question...1.) If your system is able to do it, get a copy of XP Mode. If memory serves me correctly, it still comes with IE 6. Ok.. It's ugly, awkward, bass ackwards and a pain, but, it should get you past this error.2.) Find another provider - of course, if this is the company you work for, that might be an issue and you're stuck with only option #1...

I had the same problem and have spent countless hours trying to fix it. The think that finally worked: Open OWA, click Options, scroll down to Email Security and update S/Mime Control. Now things are working as they should!
