un-install question
okay i have 2 320 gig hard drives i have windows 7 rc installed on my second drive on a partition. i formatted the partition and even removed the the partition with a program, but when ever i start up my computer, it still asks me if i want to boot to windows 7. if i dont pick xp which is on my first drive it defaults to windows 7 and says it can be start and i need to install the cd and repair it. but i dont want it on my computer anymore. i tried editing the boot.ini but that did nothing.

jkiejr - You'll need a copy of EASYBCD. I assume you installed Windows 7 to a drive that was not the primary drive in the boot chain (in other words, your oldXP drive was plugged in as the first drive to be booted). As such, Windows 7 made a change to that drive's boot record. EasyBCD is a tool that allows you to modify boot information on Vista or later systems. So what you'll do is remove Windows 7 as a boot option from the mix and everything should work fine from there.

Depending on your os if by chance it is a windows version older than vista such as xp or 2000 and since you have XP all you need to do is get a copy of bootsect.exe andtype "bootsect.exe /nt52 all" which will restore ntldr as the primary loader and eliminate vista or 7's boot screen. If it isn't Mr. Seven it's not.
