two pc won't connect to internet through router.
I have a new pc with windows 7 and an older pc with XP. I bought a wired router so both could have internet access. I can get either one connected if the other is turned off. I can't get both to connect. The pc running xp will send packets but not receive them and diagnostics tells me the hardware is working.2 people need an answerI do too

Joe in ohio, On both machines open a CMD prompt and type ipconfig and hit enter. Let me know what the results are. Also what type of router do you have?Viza

I have same/similar issue. My ISP is Comcast and I have one Win7Pro as well as one WinVistaUltimate machine. The Win7 is wired by Cat5 and the Vista is on the wireless. I am using a WRT54G router as well as a D 3.0 modem. I am not worried about the Vista box, but just want to be sure my Win7 box is not at fault... I am suspecting a a bad router... just my luck. Any input? EDIT Issue resolved for me. Appears that my Router was bad. Replaced it and set it up, Internet works great now. @Joe in ohio , you might want to try to clone you mac address to your router as well, when I was setting up my new router it would briefly not let me online until I cloned my PC's mac address. Just a thought.
