trying to retrieve info lost when windows shut down
recently, Windows stopped working on my computer. Kept getting a "sorry for the inconvenience" notice which just kept looping back and I was unable to get onto my computer. I took it in for service and they said that they had no idea what happened to cause this problem. I was told there were no viruses, my hard drive was fine, that Windows was the problem. I have a laptop and was never given the initial disc for set up of my computer so the repair place put a simple windows xp program. When I was able to get back onto my computer, everything that I had on it was gone. My games, my ebooks in my Microsoft, Adobe and Mobipocket readers etc. Is there anything that can be done to retrieve this information? I am a little annoyed that I had to spend $99 to "fix" a Window's problem but I guess that is the way it goes. Thanks for any help.1 person needs an answerI do too
