trustedinstaller a cover for spyware that took over my dell laptop running vista business. prevents me from running ipconfig.
my netstat tells me i have two homes. one 127.*.*.* , not my router, and one 168.192.0.2, my router ( i hope, my ethernet is 168.192.0.1 ). so i figure the trustedinstaller is on a network i don't know anything about. in effect, even though i have been installing and re-installing the OS, the domain i don't want to be part off uses this trustedinstaller stuff to take over my laptop. the isatap stuff and toredo-tunneling path seems to be a method involved. i read a lot of comments by youngsters wasting their time gabbing about their computer toys. is there an adult out here willing to divulge the fact of patriot-act hackers messing with whatever privacy one might want in cyberspace?

127.0.0.1 is your localhost adress. Trustedinstaller main function is to enable installation, removal and modification of Windows Updates and optional system components so it's a part of the OS.

thank you for taking the time, especially as i discouraged geek replies. may i add that 127... was the home and my laptop name was the foreign address. 168.192...was the home and the foreign addresses were all the items on the home page, the trustedinstaller refused me access to ipconfig and some other items i wanted to change. my apologies for not remembering themm.. may i suggest that what you call the local host is a part of my laptop that i do not control. i suggest my part of the laptop is a subordinate "client" that cannot make changes controlled by the controlling system. i suspect that the microsoft code has been hijacked to support legal surveillance.the trustedinstaller has had its function modefied to protect the modefied system. when i run netstat or ipconfig i frequently only get a flash of the black window, only long enough to see that there is writing on it or not. thank you
