The following link: Fix Windows corruption errors by using the DISM or System Update Readiness tool, provides information that may be helpful in resolving your issue. Under the "For Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2012" section in step 2, please notice the Important paragraph for some valuable information. 

There may be a possibility that your Windows Update components are corrupt and may need to be repaired using the installation media as the source. For more information on how to repair an image, please click on this link: Repair a Windows Image.
