time synchronization via internet worked perfectly when i was on xp... even on non-microsoft software now on windows 7, even though the windows time service is started i can't synch my time (not even windows time)... (SNTP-error) any ideas how to fix my time??

That could have something to do with your network, your firewall and/or your router blocking the time sync port. Make sure port 123 is NOT blocked anywhere.There are 3rd party tools that are free for the download. One of my favorites would be Tardis 2000... It's an oldie, but a goodie. And yes, the author is a bit into Doctor Who. Once, again, you'll need to have to make sure that port 123 is open on both UDP and TCP.
