I'm afraid that "a problem with my Microsoft" is too vague to enable us to give you focused help. Please start with the basics and post back with answers/results for further help. Also please review the information at the "how to post" links to see what details about your computer and its recent history to include in your next reply. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?Be sure the computer is clean:http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_MalwareHelp us help you:http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Tech_Support - See "How to Write a Post" sectionhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 - How to Ask a QuestionMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Very often the problem lies with McAfee and they blame it on Microsoft. You might consider getting rid of it and getting something less invasive such as Microsoft Security Essentials. steve "Janet Lyles" wrote in message news:aef53876-7aa0-4867-a115-521971c4413f...I have experienced problems today with McAfee saying there was an error. I recommend dumping andreplacing it. For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, ifyou are willing to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, Irecommend one (only one; never install more than one) of thefollowing three:AviraAvastMicrosoft Security EssentialsYou also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download andinstall (both freeware) MalwareBytes AntiMalware andSuperAntiSpyware. Ken Blake
