the group or dependency service failed to start error on vista
Back awhile ago, there was a power surge, & my computer was on, & I couldn't turn it off. Then it kept being turned on, & off, constantly. Then it was almost a week before the power problem was fixed. In the mean time a Trojan generic something, downloaded it's self. Because the mess didn't let the security turn on right. After that happened, the thing started downloading ____, attached to needed system updates. Then those in turn turned my security off, turned off windows update, my firewall, etc. & everything could not, & would not update, or turn back on. Even when trying it manually. I'd keep getting the error listed in the title, or the program would flash up really fast then not open. After searching online, I finally found a way to get rid of the Trojan, & viruses, they are all gone now, but, they seriously damaged the system files, & the main admin account. I had to create a new admin account, & delete the old one, it was so bad. I ended up downloading a month free trail, of a newer version of my security, & running it, to help clear up some of the mess. Now everything opens slow, or when it does opens repeats, or never opens, freezes up to say not responding, etc. Or I get the the group or dependency service failed to start error. My OS is Vista 32 bit. I have ran my security, etc. & everything says no viruses, spyware, malware, etc. are on here. I run them all on full scan back to back, now, even after being online for 5 minutes or less, just to be safe. I have IE disabled, because the thing currupted it, to where it opens, on it's own, & says "IE encountered a problem" or something like that, then I get slammed by random file names .exe stopped working, which I found out were more viruses, that I ended up deleting manually, because nothing got the off. They were repeating, & hanging names to hide from everything. They are no longer on here either. To make a long story short, how can I stop this error, & get everything to work right again? I know I can take it to a repair place, but, they'd want to keep it for longer than would be needed, then do things they are not told to, & charged a high amount for it, & I can't afford repair bills, or buying a new computer. Last time I took it in to replace a defective part, they cleaned out some stuff, & ended up wiping out photos, writtings, & drawings I was still working on. I had them backed up, but, I hate saving unfinished things on CDs, & DVDs. So hard to erase, & update the version saved. Anyhow, they kept it 2 weeks, when it only needed to be 1 week, or a few days, charged for doing that stuff, the part, replacing the part, etc. & when I'd call to see if it was done, oh we haven't worked on it yet, the whole 2 weeks. So I want to try, & fix this on my own. Can someone help me, as to what to do? & this has nothing to do with my network, or connection, like all the others regarding this error says. I have already checked all that.
