I shall suggest you to reinstall and update audio driver. Visit the website of the manufacturer to download and install the latest compatible audio driver.

In the Start Search type in services.msc and hit the Enter key to open Services. Scroll down to Windows Audio > Right click  on it > select Properties > Make sure startup type is set to Automatic and must be running.

If it's not be the case then:

Open Device Manager.

  • Double-click the type of device that you want to uninstall.

  • Right-click the specific device you want, and then click Uninstall. You can also double-click the device, and then on the Driver tab, click Uninstall.

  • In the Confirm Device Removal page, select Delete the driver software for this device.

  • Click OK to complete the uninstall process.

  • When the uninstall process is complete reboot the computer.

  • Windows will automatically try to detect the audio driver.

  • You can try to update the same from the website of the manufacturer.

Check at AVG Virus Quarantine files. There is supposed to be file related to audio service. Right click and restoring it then rebooting
