taking a long time for emails to reach recipients
when ever I send an email it does not get hung up in the out box, but it takes 30 minutes sometimes an hour for messages to be received..Even test emails with no content or attachments that I send to myself as a test takes 30 minutes or more. Also my web mail has emails that will go into spam folder but in my outlook express no emails ever go to my spam folder. and one last thing my spell check does not work on my emails it is set to on but does not check spelling. the most improtant issue to me is the timing of emails. 1: Assuming Outlook Express, does the message appear in Sent Items quickly? Once it is in Sent Items, your ISP has received it and the slowness issue is from that point on. One thing you can do to get it to your server faster is disable e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for loss of messages. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm Note that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in Custom Mode and uncheck e-mail scanning when the option arises. 2: What spam program are you using in Outlook Express? 3: OE doesn't have its own spell check. It uses the one from Word or a third party program. Which are you using and is Office 2007 installed? How are your spell check options configured?Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]
