system auto wakeup consistently from sleep & hibernation
HiI have got a new Dell laptop Studio XPS 1340 a month ago. About two weeks ago I installed Windows 7 RC build 7100, then start to experiencing this issue. The system will automatically wake up from sleep. Even I made the system go into hibernation, still same issue. I have went into device manager to ensure wake-on-lan and legacy USB, etc. all disabled, still no change. After viewing the system event log, realized the wake occurred about one hour after sleep/hibernationAnd the most frequent event is related to system time change (level - information; source- kernal general; event ID - 1; keyword - Time; task category - none)I have tried disabling the internet time synchronization, but the auto wake still remains. Appreciate any help or input.thanks,

Kawa4521,Make sure your wakup settings are turned off... Just click on start and type wakeup and press enter. The default is 1 hour... Hopefully this is it, because there are a large number of posts in this forum related to sleep and hibernation problems. Some are fixed with updated Bios, some with new chipset drivers... Some don't get fixed because there are no updates. So check for updates from Dell also.

This issue can be caused by hardware or the drivers. I suggest that you follow the steps below to try to determine which device or driver is the root cause. 1. Open a command prompt and run the command powercfg -devicequery wake_armed 2. Try to disable each of these devices above one by one and test the problem until you find the culprit that is waking up the computer. powercfg -devicedisablewake "device name" 3. Once you find the one that is causing problems, you can re-enable the other devices. powercfg -deviceenablewake "device name"Arthur Xie - MSFT
