svchost.exe continuously using over 50 percent of memory hanging up computer
svchost.exe is continuously using over 50 percent of the memory and it hangs the computer up when I try to use it. I I went to the start, run cmd and run tasklist/svc I can see everything being used but I do not understand what all the abbreviations are for.I still do not know how to fix it anyway. Someone on the forum suggested going to some cnet place but you have to purchase some winrar license. Also clicking on the svc process in the task manager does not show anything using a right or a left click. I would like to know if microsoft has a fix for this. thank you.I also uninstalled windows defender and this did not help either.1 person needs an answerI do too

Start by making sure the computer is completely virus/malware-free per the steps at the link below. All procedures/suggested removal tools are free.http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_MalwareSvchost - How to determine what services are running under a SVCHOST.EXE processhttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.htmlPost back with results for further help.If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop. MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
