At logoon just befor the enter password dialoque box the above svchost.exevapplication error message appears.Am given an option to end or cancel the error.I have tried to look up for the errror no on mirosoft support without success.Someone please help.

Hi bepah,How long have you had this issue?When exactly do you get the error? Step 1:Check what happens in safe mode:http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=trueStep 2:I suggest you to put the computer in clean boot state and check.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Note:After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps in the above article to reset the computer to start as usual.Step 3:Apart from the above mentioned steps,I suggest you try running a malware scan and check what happens. http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials Some malware/spyware/virus that is out on the Internet, will also change system settings, corrupt data, and log invalid registries that will also make annoying errors, as like the ones you are encountering. You can try a virus scan. Just keep in mind that if your system does contains a virus, the active virus can try to keep the system from installing/using the virus scan correctly. Online Virus scans (sometimes) will not have that problem. http://onecare.live.com - OneCare is Microsoft's Virus Scan. You can attempt using the OneCare Safety Scanner. That is OneCare's online Scanner. Sometimes it will not launch properly if your system is not under a specific ordinance. Hi bepah, - Have you tried the suggestions provided by Savan H? Follow the steps listed below: Step 1: a. Click “Start” and click “Run”.b. Type “services.msc” and hit “Enter”.c. Locate the following service: “Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework”.d. Right-click the service and select “Properties”.e. In the startup type, choose “Disabled”.f. Restart the computer. This should fix the issue. Step 2: Perform check error See How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP for instructions. Note: If any bad sectors are found while running the check disk utility and if attempt recovery of bad sectors option is checked while checking the drive for errors, the data in the bad sector may be lost while attempting to recover bad sectors.Gokul - Microsoft Support [If this post was helpful, please click the "Vote as Helpful" (green triangle) button.
