start up window shows two Windows XP
approx 2 yrears ago, i had a problem with my windows media player. long story short, i got in touch with a microsoft tech who reinstalled windows xp, but we didn't remove the original. now my screen displays both at start up and my computer has been running slow. when i defrag, it only shows 47% capacity left. can i get rid of one of the XP programs or do i have to get rid of both and reinstall. Also, I don't have any clue as to how to do this. Any help would be great!thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi, It depends on how they where setup. If they where separate partitions you can delete the other parition as long as you have backed up all you required data.

What happens when you select the other "Windows XP" entry from the boot menu? See if this FAQ applies.I have two installations of XP on the same partition........"http://michaelstevenstech.com/xpfaq.html#020Ramesh Srinivasan | The Winhelponline BlogMicrosoft MVP, Windows Desktop Experience
