With a used computer best practice is to do a clean install/factory restore of Windows. This makes knowing the password moot. If the original owner no longer has the installation media, contact Lenovo to find out how to restore the machine to factory condition. I believe Lenovo will also sell you recovery discs for $50 which is far less than it will cost to buy a new retail copy of XP Pro. http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html - Clean Install How-To http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Reinstalling_Windows - What you will need on-hand MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
