start menu does not displayed properly

what have i do for the selected icons as per the attached files.

Since when this problem started?

Try open command prompt as administrator and then type:

sfc /scannow

And let it run and see what is the result

kindly find the below result.

Did you run DISM?  The instructions for which are in this wiki


Please run a system file check (SFC) & DISM (if necessary) if you are on win 8 or higher

Hi

In addition what has been suggested by MVP ZigZag, we could also create a new account for test. If it works properly under new account, try fixing the corrupted user account if you need by following instructions as mentioned below (or just use the new administrator account instead).

This problem is known to occur if the font Segoe UI Symbol is corrupted on your computer. You can replace this font from another working Windows 8.1 system.

You should still attempt to get a successful run of DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, as other components may also be corrupt. You may also want to run ChkDsk /R to check and repair the file system and/or storage medium, as problems with the file system or storage device could be a cause of corruption.
