Hi angel37, It seems the software crashed when clicking the multiplayer button. Please understand that debug is required for troubleshooting this kind of issues. Also, in most cases, it is necessary to check the source codes of the software. Thus, we are not the best resource for this issue. I suggest contacting Starcraft manufacturer to analyze the issue. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

You can not play Starcraft (LAN Multiplayer Game) on Vista (any version) as Vista does not support IPX / SPX protocol. It is not included in the stack. Starcraft uses only IPX / SPX and not TCP /IP on LAN. Although I do not know why the program crashes when you enter multiplayer mode (In my case, Starcraft reports that it could not inititate the Network Provider after I successfully see the Multiplayer mode screens and I select LAN game on IPX / SPX). However, the point is, even if you are able to access the Multiplayer Mode Screens, you would still not be able to play Starcraft on LAN. Starcraft. Only other workaround is use of a null modem or serial connection (if you resolve the crash issue first). I think the crash issue should get resolved aft a fresh install of the game.

Hey Bhasar. 1.15 Starcraft Broodwar does support TCP/IP .. You can choose in the multiplayermenu "Local Area Network (LAN) IPX/SPX" .. Or! "Local Area Network (LAN) UDP" .. TCP/IP.. And yes it works like a charm in vista for me in multiplayer.
