Hi jeniece: You could try downloading the latest Vista audio drivers available for your motherboard and install them in Vista compatibility mode. To do this, right click the audio "set-up" file or "exe" file appropriate for your system (32 or 64-bit), select troubleshoot compatibility and select "worked ok with a previous operating system but does not work now", then pick Vista SP1 and try installing it that way. You should create re-store point prior to this action so that you can return to your original settings if you run into any problems. Good luck!

its very simple with audio. if audio comes out of the speakers, it means that the driver is installed correctlly. what would you get if you insert an audio cd? or when you try to play an audio file from your computer? do you get windows media player to start or not? do you use other media player instead? there is a chance that you need to install codecs. try to download K-lite codecs full version and install it. this might helps a lot.regards,It's all about Windows.

Jeniecehas stated in this thread that her sound is working, but makes no mention of how this happened. Jeniece, can you please let us know how you fixed this?

jeniece,There was also a new audio driver in March... and an AMD chipset driver in January. They are all listed under Windows Vista 32bit.Under Windows Vista 64 bit, there is not an audio driver but the chipset driver is there.

Jeniece, Try going into the Sound menu located in the Control Panel. Assuming that you're using the sound built into your motherboard, the active device under the Playback tab will likely be "Digital Audio (S/PDIF)." See if anything in here looks amiss, especially in the "Levels" and "Enhancements" tabs.-Alex

To get the latest drivers for your motherboard, go to the AMD display drivers site, http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx. Select your OS version, then "Integrated/Motherboard", and then "Radeon HD 3200". For example, for Windows 7 x64, this will get you to http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=win7/windows-7-64bit.Once there, you can download the display drivers, but what you really need are the chipset drivers. Click on the Catalyst Drivers link on the left, and you will see a menu, including Motherboard/Integrated Video Drivers. The Full Catalyst Suite might include all the drivers, but incase it doesn't there are links available for the separate components. Use the Vista ones if there aren't Windows 7 ones available.I have the same motherboard. I installed these drivers and I have the "ATI Function Driver for High Definition Audio - ATI791A" device listed in device manager.

jeniece -If you right-click on the speaker icon on the desktop and select the Sound Mixer icon, you should see at least three separate controls displayed. Device System Sounds Windows Desktop GadgetsThere may be others if you have other things like Windows Media Player open. At the bottom of each slider, there is a MUTE button. Make sure that none of the devices are muted.
