sharing in a workgroup
i want to share a folder on my desktop in a workgroup setting, not a homegroup settingthe only way it seems to do this is to add the user account on the other pc on the network, and then we see that user at the logon screenwhat if I want to share with 5 or 6 users on other pc's? Do I really have to see them all at the logon screen? I can't find anywhere to turn this off.

Hi Wazme, You can hide the user account from the log on screen. To do this, please see this link . Hope this helps.Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org Contributing Author for: (Sybex) MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure Configuration Study Guide: Exam 70-643

Hi, There is a simple way. You could turn off Password Protected Sharing manually. Launch Network and Sharing Center, click Change advanced sharing settings. Turn off that option. You can also just create one user account, which username/password is different with others. When anyone wants to access via network, just input this username/password and he could get in.Arthur Xie - MSFT
