sharing hard drives in windows 7
Okay this is my first post so bare with me. i currently have 3 computers running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit a dell 4700 desktop, an acer revo 1600 (upgraded to 2 gigs or ram) and an hp dv 9500 laptop i have a broad band internet modem in my bedroom with the desktop that has 2 internal hard drives and 2 external ( 1 seagate terabyte and 1 wd 320 my passport) the acer is currently hooked to my tv for videos and other media my laptop is for my wifes homework i have wifi adapters on all of them the desk top has a linksys wmp110 (?) and a realtek RTL81878 the laptop has a broadcom wifi card factory and the acer also has a realtek 8187 wifi adapter my problem is this i can share the internet no problem just created a non bridged ad hoc home network and all the computers are set to home i try to manually share each hard drive and it keeps telling me acces deined contact network admin i have turned off password protected sharing the network is using wap-2 all shared hard drives are shared with full permissions to every one and still get acces deined i know a enough about to computers to keep from screwing things up and im not a newbie at this but im stumped here oh and the ad hoc network is on the realtek not the linksys i keep getting problems with the linksys im trying to keep from going to a wireless router as money is tight i just want to keep all my files and stuff on the tower and just acces them with the laptop or revo when i want something such as a movie or something cause the terabyte is hard to move around and get it plugged in all the appropret software is installed and running perfect latest drivers as well i tried the virtual router thing not really sure what that was or if it was microsoft cert but it wouldnt install kept telling me to check with microsoft or something anyways if anyone could help me solve this it would be greatly appreciated thank you very much
