service pack 3 installed - now no communications
XP professional version 5.1Installed service pack 3 last evening and now operating system software will not recognize connections even though computer shows connections and ipconfig shows connection.I have disabled all firewalls(scarey) and still nothing 1 person needs an answerI do too

Thanks Noel for taking the time to answer.I have both wireless and wired. both show connected on the systemtray; both can be disabled and reconnected; both can be repaired.Only message is:Internet Explarer cannot display the webpageWhat you can tryDiagnose Connection Problems ping me at 192.168.200.251 and you will see the hardware is there and from the command prompt I can communicate with the internet but for some reason the software beyond the command prompt can't.Wilf
