service pack 1 failed to install
Hi I have windows 7 pro 64bit all working fine until it tried to install SP1 and then failed to start up with installation failed with error code c0000034. My first mistake was to delete the pending.xml file this let me boot up, but wont find my profile just uses a tempory file,if I try to use system restore it says there are no restore points. If I go to any application or explorer it comes up with explorer.exe " no such interface supported". I then thought I would do an upgrade with the windows 7 disk but that fails with " your current version of windows is more recent than the version you are trying to upgrade to" This is really doing my head in, any ideas gratfully received!

You damaged the Windows too much and if you can't restore an older image or use the system restore you must install Windows again.
