security settings not refreshing
Hi every1,im facing a real pain in the Eggs issue, the security templates wont work no matter what i do they dont change in the registry,i openned the registry editor and looked for Group Policy Objects key and i noticed that all the changes ive made didnt take effect in the registry and consequently not changing what i needed to be changed!!!i cant write anything in any removable storage devices cuz i set to write protect however i cant disabled it due to the problem mentioned above, so how can i refresh the GPO at every change i make? the security settings tab is not affect by this issue ,only the administrative templates!! it looks like it keeps the history and it doesnt update when i change anything there,i cleared of the applocker rules and rebooted and still didnt work!!!!i believe its a history bug anyone here can help me out with this?i hope so and sorry for the confusing text cuz im in a rush now...will be looking forward for some support here.Kind regards,RR

wow still didnt get any answer?when i clear all applocker rules and logoff it kinda updates the GPO but not completely...it seems to be applocker rules blocking and leaves history thing even when clearing all applocker policies!!!i created script rules/windows installer rules/dll rules/app rules ..all of them a set to allow administrator and my standard user account and blocked the following: backup operators(only in some rules that dont need it)/Dcom users/event log users/guest/guests/IIS usrs/netword config operators(again only for som rules that dont need it)/network monitor/power users/remote desktop users/replicator .anything wrong with that?could that be applocker bug?plz guys i really need an asnwer for this ,its getting on my way and everytime i need to change some advanced settings i have to perform some annoying actions and reboot a couple times then try to disable some policies then apply the changes...will be lookin forward for any reply!Kind regards,RR

here i am again answering my own thread after sweating buckets !!!heres what i did:deleted applocker rules>cleared all rules from the left panel>changed GPO refresh interval>created a new admin account>>backed up my archives into my new admin account>created a new MMC snapin from th new admin>removed the other admin account and all its files>same with the standard account>created all new applocker rules(now i think i learned applocker as a whole coz i didnt know i had to create default rules in order to allow builtin admins to all hard drive and other few rules)>>created a new freaking giant password>created a new standard account>same with the password>changed some settingts that still had the old usernames such as firewall etc>>created new EFS encryption files for the new users>>and i think thats about it ,i mightve forgotten something but i changed mostly the above!!!Hours: from 11:00 AM up to 2:30 AMisnt that kool? exaustion is the right word after all that hard work...MSFT didnt even reply to this thread which is sad ¬¬Kind regards,Hkey
